April represents the start of so many things. A new financial year, the start of spring, and this year, for us, the start of a new annual golf tradition.
On 1 April, 30 of our wonderful supporters joined us at our charity golf day, to raise money for the Sarah Jayne Charitable Trust, set up by our founder Paul in honour of his sister Sarah Jayne.
The Trust aims to support small, local charities that struggle to be heard but are doing all they can to make a big difference to children and families in our community.
Sunshine and snow
The weather certainly had us all fooled as we set up for the charity event that coincided with April Fool’s Day. With blue skies on arrival, we thought we were set for a day of golf in the sunshine. By the time we reached the 18th hole, it had started snowing!
Still, even the changeable weather couldn’t dampen the charity spirit and a thoroughly enjoyable day, as we raised an incredible £3,000 for the Sarah Jayne Charitable Trust.
Eight teams took to the Bristol Golf Course at St. Swithens Park for a relaxed 18-hole Better Ball Stableford and we all enjoyed stunning views across the Severn Estuary.
Congratulations and a huge thank you
Joe, Jon, Chris, and David from Team Hancock and Parsons took home the ‘best team’ trophy with a winning score of 52 points.
We’re incredibly grateful to all our sponsors, not only for helping us to hit our fundraising target but also for helping us to raise awareness of the Trust and its work in supporting under-funded charities.
Special thanks go to Brigstow Family Law, Capio Recruitment, Clear Vision Accountancy Limited, Corsham Print, Doe & Fawn Coffee Roasters, Hartsfield Trustee, Savage Cabbage and Sweetpea Catering Ltd and everyone else that made the day such a huge success.
We were also very humbled to receive sponsorship from a fellow not-for-profit organisation, Go Again, a Mental Health Charity providing professional psychological support to players and coaches from all levels, and types, of sport.
100% of the money raised will help to fund another Wizzybug for Designability, Trauma Counselling at Wiltshire Mind and play sessions for children with additional needs at Incredible Kids.
See you next year!

In fact, the day was such a success, we’ve decided to make it an annual event. So, we’re pleased to announce that the “Sarah Jayne Memorial Cup” will now take place every year in April.
